Tollycraft Boating Club Milestone
Almost 30 years ago, the Tollycraft Boating Club was officially formed with by-laws, bridge officers and a board. And Tollys. Lots of Tollys!
As more Tollycraft owners joined, Tollyclub member numbers were established to keep track of them and their Tollys.
From 0001 – 1000
The first one, TBC0001, was assigned to R.M “Tolly” Tollefson.
And last month, the club reached a membership milestone as number TBC1000 was assigned to new members Mike Bohannon & Stephanie Bailey and their 1985 Tolly 37.
A Family Tolly with a Twist
Mike and Stephanie’s Tolly story is a family affair. Stephanie’s dad owned a 1985 Tolly 37 named Captain Cindy. Among the cruises Stephanie and her dad, Richard Bailey, took together was a trip to Alaska around 2001.
Then 30 years ago, Richard and Cindy sold Captain Cindy to Don and Kathy Carter who renamed the Tolly Dem Bones.
Don and Kathy (TBC0096) were regulars at the annual Tollyclub Rendezvous and thanks to their meticulous care, Dem Bones was either named Best in Show or in the running every year.
Last year, Don and Kathy made the difficult decision to sell Dem Bones. And as fate would have it, Mike and Stephanie saw listing and brought their Tolly back into their family. For Stephanie it is extra special as her Dad passed away several years ago.
Now named Final Inspection, the Tolly has returned to the Tollyclub and is already exploring Desolation Sound and other favourite destinations.
